Program Specifics:

• Start Career Path in a Mercy St Louis Med Surg Dept
  • Available Units: Observation Telemetry, Medical Surgical, Neuroscience, Neurosurgical, or Trauma Surgical
• Successfully complete 10 week Med Surg Residency
• Approx. 12 month commitment to Med Surg unit (post Residency)
  • Working on unit as an RN
• Automatic transfer to Mercy St Louis Float Pool with support and guidance from Nurse Managers
  • *Criteria for Automatic transfer - No corrective actions (attendance or behavior, evaluation must be "acceptable" or higher)
  • Automatic transfer will be to NIGHT shift

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• License: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
