Job Summary

We are seeking a Research Assistant to be a part of the Connected and Automated Mobility Lab to collaborate on an academic research project related to motion planning and control of connected and automated vehicles. This individual will assist in the development of models and algorithms for motion planning and control as well as the construction of a testbed to implement these models and algorithms.

Essential Functions



  • Attend routine meetings with project team.
  • Assist in research activities including literature review, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Assist in development of models and algorithms.
  • Assist in the construction of the testbed.
  • Regularly check in with research staff and supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of Master's Degree in Civil, Architectural, Environmental Engineering or relevant field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience working in a university or laboratory research setting.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Proficient in Python or C++ programming.
  • Strong interest in robotics, transportation engineering, and automation.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed and independently manage time and expectations.

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table

Additional Information

This is a Full-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
