Billing Financial Analyst

What you will be doing:

The Billing Financial Analyst supports the contract setup in Workday based on billing and revenue needs. The Billing Financial Analyst works closely with assigned business areas and the revenue team to ensure that all information is setup correctly. This individual will manage and assist all aspects of projects and contract setup to ensure completeness and accuracy of all monthly activity.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Responsibilities - 75%

  • Project approval and maintenance of projects.

  • Responsible for analyzing contracts and amendments for billing and revenue purposes.

  • Setup contracts and amendments in Workday based on billing and revenue needs.

  • Create billing schedules based on contract specifications.

  • Updates of installments based on milestones updates.

  • Process daily invoicing per contract specifications.

  • Works closely with assigned business areas.

  • Resolves questions regarding invoicing from customers and internal management.

  • Coordinate with other financial analysts in contract setup and consolidated invoicing.

Other Responsibilities - 25%

  • Identify and implement process flow improvements in the billing process.

  • Develop a strong technical knowledge of Workday to facilitate any technical issues.

  • Participate in semi-annual Workday upgrade testing.

  • Assume lead role in integrating new projects or acquisitions.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the products and services offered by the various Premier businesses and contractual arrangements for such offerings.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 2 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and willingness to shift priorities and excel in time management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey details to management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong Proficiency in MS Office applications particularly Excel.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years progressive experience in an Accounting/Finance Department.
  • Experience with billing issues, particularly in the areas of software subscriptions and consulting services.
  • Demonstrated experience with reviewing and understanding customer contracts and associated terminology.
  • Workday system knowledge.
  • Experience with customer invoicing.
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition requirements under GAAP.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline

Working Conditions: Air conditioned office space Travel Requirements: Travel 1-20% within the US Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $51,000 - $95,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
