Overview:

The Mercy Birthing Center is a comprehensive service line that includes 15 Labor & Delivery Suites, 2 Obstetric Operating Suites, and a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The Labor & Delivery RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to newborns during the critical first two hours of life. This role involves attending deliveries, performing resuscitation, conducting thorough assessments, and ensuring the overall well-being of newborns.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

• Preferred Experience : 2+ years RN experience in L&D unit

• Physical requirements/demands:

  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
