The Clinical Pharmacist General Medicine Float ensures safe, appropriate, and economical use of drugs through the application of specialized skills and knowledge in pediatric patient care. The Clinical Pharmacist General Medicine Float is an integral team member of the pharmacist competency group. This Pharmacist rotates through various specialties such as pulmonology, acute pain/surgery, abdominal solid organ transplant, psychiatry, neurology, and general medicine. The Pharmacist rounds with the multidisciplinary care team, performs therapeutic drug monitoring, makes therapeutic recommendations, provides patient education, precepts, and much more. is an integral team member of the pharmacist competency group. This Pharmacist rotates through various specialties such as pulmonology, acute pain/surgery, abdominal solid organ transplant, psychiatry, neurology, and general medicine. The Pharmacist rounds with the multidisciplinary care team, performs therapeutic drug monitoring, makes therapeutic recommendations, provides patient education, precepts, and much more. The Department of Pharmacy provides comprehensive clinical services to patients at Children's Hospital Colorado. We have organized clinical pharmacy services that complement the team approach to providing care. Our clinical pediatric pharmacists are available 24 hours a day and help ensure the safe and effective use of medication in children - as well as promote health, wellness and disease prevention. Our specially-trained pharmacists work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine the best medication regimen and monitoring plan for the pediatric patient. Clinical pharmacy services are integrated into virtually all inpatient care units as designated pharmacists round with the medical teams. Through this direct involvement, pharmacists are empowered to assist in a great deal of therapeutic decision making and therapeutic drug monitoring activities. Salary Information As part of our Total Rewards package, Children's Colorado offers an annual employee bonus program that rewards eligible team members based on organizational performance. If organizational goals are met for the year, the bonus is paid out the following April.
