Senior Financial Analyst- Cost Accounting

The 'Senior Financial Analyst - Cost Accounting' position is a key member of the Enterprise Finance Global Cost Accounting Team - which holds global responsibility for costing-related functions across our Regions and ERP platforms. This position is primarily responsible for managing variance explanation, allocation, and pass-through at GSC manufacturing sites and related month-end close processes, referred to as the commercial 'pass through' process. This position will work cross-functionally with various members of GSC operations & finance, commercial selling divisions, and other elements of the R&C Cost Team. The position will work regularly with SW business units in the creation and explanation of standard costs, passed variances, and monthly financial results, driving transparency and profitability for our commercial groups.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Month end close entries to allocate manufacturing variances to business units utilizing a variety of concepts.
  • Review and allocate PPV and complete various monthly reporting.
  • Provide explanation to commercial business units regarding passed actuals versus trend, plan, and forecast.
  • Assist in review and development of annual raw material standard costs, freight, usage, and other overheads.
  • Complete monthly reporting for management.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Speak to the GSC P&L / Results Report regarding material variances.
  • Special projects, as assigned, such as standardizing the 'pass through' process to out-of-scope regions.
  • Assist in identifying and enacting enhancements which can drive standardization and efficiency.
  • Other cost accounting tasks & responsibilities, as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a focus in Finance or Accounting, or related business degree.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance or an MBA with a focus in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 3+ years of finance and/or accounting experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with the QAD and Oracle ERP platforms
  • Experience in cost development and accounting
  • Experience working cross-functionally and multi-nationally
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience with OneStream

Preferred:

  • Standard Costing methodology
  • Experience with developing reporting and monthly variance accounting
  • Oracle ERP working knowledge
