Primary Responsibilities:



  • Design and build a greenfield commercial analytics platform on Microsoft Azure
  • Design cloud architecture and patterns
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Cloud (Azure) and Terraform
  • Must possess great understanding of Azure Services, Network, and Security with experience working closely with application teams
  • Maintain ongoing improvement of processes, and best practices to meet security, cost, and agility requirements
  • Contribute to and maintain design and process documentation
  • Build an extensible analytics compute environment with Azure Databricks/Synapse that can used directly by the end user as well as integrated with additional components like Power BI
  • Prioritize modularity, reusability, and componentization of solutions
  • Enable ease of use with documentation, templates, scripts, and wrapper APIs that allow a data analyst to get up and running with their preferred data sources and compute as quickly as possible
  • Work collaboratively with a distributed cross org team of engineers, architects, and data scientists/analysts.
  • Manage pipelines for CI/CD and Release Management workflows like Github Actions.
  • Must have experience and understanding of modern Identity & Access Management concepts and best practices

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure specifically in services like Databricks, Synapse, Kubernetes Service, Webapp, Azure Keyvault
  • 3+ years of experience with Terraform IaC and CI/CD using Github
  • 3+ years of experience with APIs, and cloud architecture design
  • 3+ years of experience doing analytics platform/infrastructure work
  • 3+ years of experience with a relevant language (SQL, Python or Go)
  • 3+ years of experience diagnosing and resolving network connectivity problems, API integration issues, and cloud resource configuration errors.
  • 3+ years of Cloud monitoring experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights, and Log Analytics Workspace or other open-source tools



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Azure Certification (AZ-104) and HashiCorp Terraform certification
  • Experience doing analytics platform/infrastructure work in the healthcare space
  • Experience integrating with disparate data sources (EPIC, Hadoop, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry with PHI/PII
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently as well as with a team

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
