UMR Senior SQL Report Developer - Remote in Eastern, Central, and Mountain Time Zones

Use your operational analytical skills to design/develop, program, maintain and publish reports as a UMR Senior SQL Report Developer. Make solid recommendations based on the analysis and provide explanations for reporting results for both internal operations and our customers. You must be self-directed and creative as you will deal with some very interesting and complex issues. As a key resource to others you must maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.

If you are located in Eastern, Central, and/or Mountain time zones, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Design, develop, maintain, and publish reports
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL query solutions
  • Function as a key contributor to projects that are implementing new technologies into data reporting solutions
  • Function as a key contributor to projects that are implementing new technologies into data reporting solutions such as Tableau and PowerBI
  • Work with cross-divisional teams to support reporting and data delivery projects
  • Evaluate, monitor, maintain, and communicate data quality statuses
  • Ensure processes incorporate sufficient data quality validation within test plans; participate in the testing process, as needed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to drive efficiencies - prepare justification and provide leadership to implement solutions
  • Support the monthly and weekly operations metric reviews
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to always meet deadlines
  • Focus on quality and accuracy of own work
  • Focus on customer experience and client relationships
  • Mentor other team members on business processes and technical skills

Required Qualifications:



  • 4+ years of related experience in a healthcare insurance operations reporting role
  • 3+ years of experience performing report development
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL programming, specifically multiple tables, different joins, aggregation, and built-in-SQL functions
  • 2+ years of experience withMicrosoft Excel, specifically V-lookups, pivot tables, and formulas.
  • 2+ years of experience with UMR claim data and claim processes
  • Must be located in Eastern, Mountain, or Central time zone



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with data quality tools and standard practices
  • Experience with dashboard visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Proven excellent attention to detail and accuracy (specifically focused on calculations, interpretation, and presentation)
  • Proven ability to work productively and proactively in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Proven analytical thinker, with ability to quickly grasp complex issues and problem solve
  • Proven solid organizational skills to track requests, deliverables, and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a group setting to achieve overall departmental goals
  • Proven team player with the strong ability to work with other disciplines across the company
  • Proven dedication to make continuous improvements in all areas of responsibility

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
