Product Counsel Team Contract Manager

As an important member of the Product, Intellectual Property and Procurement (PIPP) Team at Juniper, the candidate will be a seasoned Contracts Manager working with engineers, info-security, and program managers to support product development for security, open source, and sales support. The Contract Manager will have an emphasis on providing support for the open source program and cybersecurity programs, advising the company on a wide-range of open source licensing and cybersecurity matters. The candidate will contribute to and oversee a variety of objectives, and will align and coordinate priorities and activities with cross-functional stakeholders.

The Contract Manager will work closely with the engineering, product management, go to market legal team members, and information security to provide integrated support, including coordination of compliance with open source, security, and other applicable requirements. This is a newly created position reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Senior Director. The Product Counsel may be located at Juniper's headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, or remote.

Responsibilities include:



  • Maintain authoritative knowledge of Juniper's Open Source usage and/or cybersecurity policies and review procedures
  • Coordinate with the program managers, information security, and go to market legal team members to prepare responses to RFPs and customer-facing deal documents, and advise on security and open-source questions
  • Administer and manage information security provisions in sales-related contracts from conception through post-execution. Tasks include reviewing, redlining contracts, and identifying and managing key stakeholders' input to meet deadlines.
  • Support legal requests for RFPs, including information security, open source, and product issues.
  • Manage all projects and deals in a timely manner to meet deadlines and provide high quality work.



Required Skills:



  • Experience working with R&D teams
  • Understanding of Linux, embedded systems, software containers, build systems, and/or computer networking is preferred
  • Familiarity with product-related regulatory compliance requirements such as export control, intellectual property, privacy, standards, cybersecurity and customized go-to-market terms
  • Proven expertise in advising business clients regarding open source and security legal issues, and a dedication to developing solutions for business clients

  • Ability to learn, interpret, and communicate standard operating procedures and guidelines for information security and open source.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related contract management experience.

Experience reviewing and redlining complex technology agreements.

Understanding of technology sales channels and associated agreements.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Experience with content management/repository tools such as SharePoint and CLMS is highly desirable.

Minimum Salary: $117,600.00

Maximum Salary:$169,050.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $117,600.00 and $169,050.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
