Responsibilities

Empower AI: As a Senior Network Engineer, with an emphasis on Cisco Networking equipment, software, programming and design expertise, you will work with a team of professionals responsible for developing, designing, implementing, installing and maintaining the security systems network, equipment and devices that are critical components of a physical security program for the safety of the United States. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Empower AI's mission to fundamentally improve how the government conducts business and help its leaders achieve their missions by realizing the promise of AI.

Responsibilities:

    Provide a broad range of support to a government agency's Technical Security Program
  • Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for all related operating systems
  • Maintain system(s) hardware and software performance and requirements (i.e. troubleshooting, upgrade and licensure) for readiness of use
  • Configure and maintain Cisco network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls, taclanes, ISE
  • Troubleshoot network issues and provide solutions to ensure optimal network performance
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve network and system-related issues
  • Evaluate the current technology footprint (infrastructure and applications) to determine a roadmap for retirement, sustainment, or introduction of new technologies
  • Assess and recommend streamlining strategies for network operations and infrastructure to obtain cost efficiencies and alignment with best practices
  • Modernize existing databases, applications, and systems to leverage new technology and standards
  • Develop, evaluate and install security systems for information assurance
  • Promote awareness of new technical solutions and conduct practical evaluations
  • Manage and support user profile definitions to standardize tools for job functions enhancing accessibility and standardization while minimizing risks
  • Develop security system policy and network designs for protection of the network
  • Support the continued migration of legacy applications to new technology
  • Install and maintain the hardware and software of the network infrastructure for video management and security management systems
  • Serve as a technical advisor
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends related to network and system administration
  • Provide various support functions including limited equipment, escort, inspection, procurement, inventory, and clerical support as needed


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of seven to twelve years of specialized experience with Cisco Networking equipment, software, programming, and design
  • A current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required, higher certifications a plus
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and topology
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network devices
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as Orion, ISE, CLI, Visio
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting or other automation tools a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift sixty pounds individually or over 100 pound with assistance.
  • Able to climb ladders, traverse construction sites, and be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time while working with or carrying tools
