The Salaried Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing training programs for employees. This role ensures that all training initiatives align with the company's goals and objectives, enhancing employee skills and performance. This Training Coordinator position will be responsible for 3 business units within our industrial packaging division and have a scope of approximately 250 employees.

What you'll be doing:

  • Identify and assess the needs of the organization and employee development program with collaboration of local site management team.
  • Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and seminars to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Facilitate safety training, new hire orientation, job instructions for new & existing employees and other positions as needed.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and consultations with managers to identify training requirements and gaps.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, book venues, and arrange necessary materials and equipment.
  • Collect feedback, analyze results using various proven L&D platforms, and render continuous improvements to training programs.
  • Keep accurate records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes, ensuring completion requirements.
  • Owner of Continuous Skills Development (CSD) pillar, utilizing Sonoco Performance System (SPS) methodologies.
  • Work with internal and external experts to develop specialized training content.
  • Research and incorporate the latest training techniques and technologies.
  • Be an active member of the leadership team offering feedback and suggestions.
  • Develop specific job description training curriculum based on the job risks and responsibilities for each individual position, while also maintaining its growth and evolution of the role and changes thereof.
  • Additional Responsibilities as assigned.

Other primary functions:

  • Must be able and willing to work on the manufacturing floor with team members to ensure proper understanding of each job position.
  • Be an active member of the leadership team offering feedback and suggestions.
  • Develop specific job description training curriculum based on the job risks and responsibilities for each individual position, while also maintaining its growth and evolution of the role and changes thereof.

This position is in Newport, TN, servicing paper mill and converting business units.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Prefer Bachelor's degreein Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proven experienceas a Training Coordinator, L&D Specialist, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of instructional design theory & implementation.
  • Ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
  • Proficient in delivering presentations and facilitating discussions.
  • Ability to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and build strong relationships.
  • Must be able and willing to work on the manufacturing floor with team members to ensure proper understanding of each job position.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $80,320 to $90,360.
