Job Summary:

Alsco is seeking a Routing Specialist for its US and Canadian operations. The Routing Specialist will utilize dynamic routing tools to develop route plans that support service excellence and improve efficiencies and productivity across all US & Canadian branches and depots. The Routing Specialist provides exceptional service and support to their Regional leaders, Branch/Depot leaders, corporate office support, and their team to meet Alsco's Service and Customer needs.

The Routing Specialist drives route optimization and efficiencies utilizing territory boundaries, hours limitations, account types and volume balancing. The Routing Specialist possesses the business acumen to develop a deep knowledge of the business while supporting a critical operational unit with major organizational impact. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of service operations with 5+ years of hospitality/healthcare/industrial/food and beverage laundry and/or transportation administration and oversight experience. This position will work in conjunction with Operations Support and reports to the Senior Manager of Fleet & Routing - North America.

Essential Functions:



  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Fleet & Routing to deliver strategic direction of Alsco's routing operations in the US and Canada.
  • Partner with team and key supplier partners to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with regional, branch, and corporate office leadership to achieve company goals while providing guidance on routing efficiencies.
  • Implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline processing capabilities. Upholds compliance and performance integrity.
  • Maintains optimum utilization of resources including but not limited to methods, procedures, structure, equipment and personnel.
  • Communicates, and supports routing operations-related policies, best practices, standards, reporting, and security measures to ensure effective, consistent operation of Alsco US & Canadian Service Teams.
  • Solicits operating partner feedback to continuously improve and streamline Alsco's routing operations.
  • Presents periodic performance reports, metrics, and as necessary action plans to the Service Manager, General Manager, Regional Manager and corporate office support staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leverage and use of Alsco asset management systems (Abel), route planning platforms (Appian/Trimble), as well as advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications:



  • Multi-location routing operations and/or supply chain operations experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to create metrics and perform data analysis, keen attention to detail, good time-management skills and collaborating with teams.


Typical Physical Activity:



  • Physical Demands/Requirements consist of standing, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching overhead, grasping, seeing, reading, speaking, hearing, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately, and without causing significant safety threat to self or others.


Typical Environmental Conditions:



  • Indoor office environment.


Travel Requirements:



  • Position may be office-based, remote or hybrid to support for Routing Operations. Remote office is acceptable with a proven track record of self-driven success and a sense of urgency.
  • Travel may be required for corporate office, Regional Support and Routing Projects and/or training or related team-based activity. Travel would not exceed 25%.


Education:



  • Technical or business educational background in transportation planning, supply chain, or business analytics preferred.
  • 2-4 years of industry-related and/or transportation operations preferred.
