Overview

Presbyterian Hospital Downtown is seeking a skilled leader for the Sterlie Processing Department. In this role you will supervise the daily activities of the Sterile Processing Department. Implements and monitors ongoing quality improvement indicators. Assures ongoing educational activities and competencies of departmental staff. Daily budget oversight for labor and supplies

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED is required.

Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) is required.

Associate Degree in Business, Healthcare or related applicable field of study preferred. 3 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree. National certification in sterile processing required. National certification as sterile processing supervisor preferred. One to three years practical experience in sterile processing techniques required. One to two years supervisory experience preferred. Valid New Mexico drivers license.



Responsibilities

Performs all sterile processing Tech and Lead duties

Hires, counsels, trains, manages competency, directs daily schedules and evaluates Sterile Processing Techs.

Assist in the identification of the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.

Maintains open communication with customers.

Oversees and monitors ongoing process validation and documentation in the Sterile Processing Department. Develops measurable goals for the department for quality indicators and shares those with other sites. Develops standards, policies and procedures for the department consistent with the regulatory environment and shares those with other sites.

Participates in the development of a departmental budget. Monitors departmental expenditures (supplies and FTE s), monitors and manages labor to budget, identifies variances and assists in the preparation of a justification for variances.

Participates on teams and committees as required for the Sterile Processing Department
