Job Summary:

This position is located in the Mental Health Evaluation, Training, Research, and Innovation Center for Schools (METRICS), which provides technical assistance to School-Based Mental Health Provider training programs worldwide. Nearly 300 training programs have access to technical assistance from METRICS related to best practices in recruiting, training, and retaining mental health professionals in K-12 educational settings.

The Resource Developer position will support METRICS technical assistance efforts by helping to develop and disseminate resources to our grantees. This position will work closely with the Associate Director of Dissemination to strategically address identified grantee needs related to recruitment, training, and retention resources. This position will also work closely with METRICS Development Coaches in order to create and develop resources based on grantee-identified needs. A background in providing coaching to K-12 educational staff would be preferred in order to assist in this work.

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Dissemination, the Resource Developer will use innovative practices to develop resources to best serve our grantees in providing critical mental health services to K-12 students. This detail-oriented position requires excellent administrative, organization, and communication (oral, written, and electronic) skills and computer proficiency. It requires considerable professionalism, independent initiative, analytic ability, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Candidates with backgrounds in school mental health practices and school-based implementation are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
Provides consultation, guidance, and services for teaching and learning stakeholders throughout the institution to advance the craft of teaching and foster inclusive and equitable student experiences. Applies technical, operational, and/or scholarly knowledge, expertise, and experience in the fields of teaching and learning, higher education, and instructional technologies.

  • 10% Designs and facilitates workshops or other engagements in support of teaching and learning professional development goals
  • 10% Consults with and advises instructors and staff about inclusive, evidence-based teaching strategies, course design, instructional technology, and university initiatives
  • 25% Designs and recommends teaching and learning materials and technologies and guides instructors and learners through the adoption and use of materials and technologies
  • 25% Collects and acts on data about teaching and learning practices in collaboration with instructors and staff and in alignment with institutional initiatives and goals
  • 10% Collaborates with campus partners and leaders to develop, evaluate, and/or implement strategic initiatives and change initiatives related to teaching and learning. May advise or lead stakeholders on the development of strategic and operational plans and their execution.
  • 10% Engages in professional development in the scholarship of teaching and learning, trends in higher education, campus initiatives, and instructional technologies
  • 10% May exercise non-supervisory leadership on projects and collaborations, including delegating and assigning tasks to team members and identifying outcomes and measures of success

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Master's Degree (M.S. or M.A.) in Education, School Psychology, School Social Work, School Counseling, or a related field


Qualifications:

Required:
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills in a context where attention to detail
Experience managing multiple projects and overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and experience with software databases
Ability to exercise independent judgement and set own priorities to meet the demands of the position
Prior graphic design experience

Preferred:
Experience developing educational resources for schools
Prior professional experience with and/or knowledge of PreK-12 educational systems, specifically those related to school mental health
Experience with providing coaching to K-12 educational staff


Work Type:

Part Time

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.


Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 12 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding


Salary:

Minimum $35.00 HOURLY
