Poles Maintenance Planner

Oversee various tasks to successfully ensure that all pole equipment is in good working condition. Create maintenance schedules for all plant equipment, ensure work orders are complete and that maintenance employees have the materials needed to keep the plant running. Applicants interested are expected to know the principles, values and behaviors of the McWane Compass.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor maintenance techs.
  • Addresses errors, problems, solves root causes daily.
  • Organizes, designs, delegates, and completes work assignments for maintenance techs.
  • Coordinate with ICS (Inventory Control Specialist) to ensure all newly created items/parts are established in MAS, and Enterprise.
  • Researching, and ordering spare parts for various machines needed.
  • Estimating costs of labor and parts for industrial equipment.
  • Build outage maintenance schedules with work orders and staffing.
  • Plan work for outside contractors, field investigations, file searches to define scope of work and organize jobs in a timely manner.
  • Plan and arrange activities related to equipment maintenance to enhance equipment and plant accessibility.
  • Utilize the enterprise system to improve, modify and add Bill of Materials (BOM), Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PM), controlled documents, standard job plans, JSA, drawings, etc.
  • Review and plan maintenance jobs with assistance of Maintenance / Operations to prioritize, secure staffing and materials as well as other support necessary to complete required work.
  • Understands and upholds plant safety requirements and enforces them as needed.
  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Knowledge of various types and brands of mobile equipment

Reports to: Poles Operation Manager

Work Environment: Heavy Industrial Setting will be involved in working around molten metal.

Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time, sitting for long periods of time, work that may involve lifting up to 50 lbs.

Position type and expected outs of work: Full time hours typical work schedule is 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM additional hours as needed and schedule subject to change.

Travel: Minimal

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in related maintenance work.
  • Maintenance Planning experience in foundry operations is preferred.
  • Journeyman electrician certified beneficial or equivalent experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and positive work relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (or willingness to learn).
  • Mechanical Knowledge.
