Position Location: We're all about flexibility! This will be a hybrid role based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA or our Seaport Boston, MA location with Mondays & Fridays remote.
The Cyber Security Defense Manager will be responsible for ensuring the protection and integrity of the organization's digital assets and infrastructure. Your focus will be on developing and implementing robust security measures, identifying areas for improvement, and responding to security issues as needed. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will conduct security assessments, communicate changes in security policies, and provide guidance and support to enhance the organization's cyber defense capabilities.
A Day in the Life...
- Safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems. This may include access and identity management.
- Oversee and manage the Security Operations Center, ensuring effective threat detection, investigation, and response. This includes managing and optimizing the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), ensuring timely and accurate alerts.
- Protect system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
- Recognize problems by identifying anomalies; reporting security violations, leveraging current tools and applying cyber techniques to protect the environment.
- Implement security improvements by assessing the current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
- Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting control monitoring, adhering to Security Standards to maintain compliance and security.
- Recommend/implement upgrades to systems that support and maintain security controls.
- Keeps management informed by preparing performance reports, score cards, and communicating system status.
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, cyber intelligence, security tool training.
- Stay up to date on emerging risks and assesses impact on OSC. Works with Tech Partners and the business to determine security recommendations to mitigate risk.
- Member of the Incident Response Team - Incident Responder for Cyber and Information Security related events. Respond to security incidents during off hours as needed.
- Work closely with the Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) to ensure SOP, SLA's and expectations are met.
- Work with MSSP to triage events as needed. Create and update SOP's for MSSP and Tech partners.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team on firewall configurations, network security best practices, and access control fostering an approach that enhances security without disrupting operations
- Review security tools configuration and recommend suggestions for continuous security improvements.
- Participate in the Change Management Committee meetings to ensure that security changes are presented to the committee.
- Work with the Digital Communications team to ensure all Information Security and Cyber changes are communicated.
- Work with tech partners in the areas of vulnerability and patch management.
- Mentor and manage a small team while remaining hands-on in a technical capacity.

- Active Directory and Microsoft Entra
- Mobile Device Management
Preferred
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc).
- Compliance Frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC II)
- Information Security Certifications (Security+, CISSP, CISM)
- PA Prisma experience and knowledge
Education: Bachelor's or University Degree (Required)
Work Experience: At least 5 Years of Experience
