This position is primarily remote but may require occasional in-person meetings for critical needs with advanced notice. The selected applicant must live within commuting distance of Washington, D.C.

US Citizenship is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Full-stack .NET development on custom applications on the Microsoft product stack
  • Ensuring the security of products and responding to security-related requests
  • As-needed production support on systems of responsibility
  • Supports, maintains, and documents software functionality
  • Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs as needed
  • Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements
  • Consults with the Product Owner and Project Manager as needed to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs
  • Keep up-to-date with best practices and skills
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



  • A minimum of 10 years of experience developing web applications on a Windows platform
  • Experience with .NET Development within a team environment
  • Knowledge of web security best practices (e.g. OWASP Top 10)
  • Experience with Telerikor or similar web-based reports designer and ad hoc reporting solutions
  • Experience with XUnit and other advanced unit testing libraries such as Moc, NSubstitute
  • Troubleshooting skills and experience such as reviewing logs, attaching a debugger, use of Chrome developer tools
  • Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity, and clear appreciation of Product Owner needs
  • Experience writing SQL and other RDBMS such as MySQL, MS SQL Server
  • The ability to contribute quickly to the project
  • The ability to prioritize and organize efforts in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates excellent grammar and spelling in written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation


PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Experience with Docker, Docker Compose and Docker orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Kendo UI solutions such as Kendo Grids
  • Experience with modern front-end development frameworks like Angular+
  • Experience writing PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of the following:

    • Enterprise Java web containers (Servlet API 3.0+) such as Tomcat
    • Git source code management
    • Azure DevOps (TFS) code management

      • Azure DevOps pipelines and releases




  • Experience with automation tools such as Selenium
  • Experience working with languages such as JavaScript and Ruby on Rails
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (or other cloud provider) service offerings
  • Familiarity with Atlassian products and services (e.g. Jira, Confluence)


EDUCATION:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is desired; four years of relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of degree

Internal title/grade: Software Engineer, E4
Salary range: $125,000 - $132,000

All individuals being hired to work for TCG must submit to, and successfully pass, a pre-employment background investigation prior to reporting for their first day of work. The pre-employment background investigation will include verification of employment and education, as well as, a criminal and DMV check.

Additional documentation and background checks will also be required for positions that require clearance from the Federal government.
