Role Description

The Test Infrastructure team is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Manager of Test Infrastructure to lead a team responsible for the design, development, and deployment of test equipment used in the characterization of battery cells and modules. This role is critical to ensuring our test systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with best engineering and safety practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership experience, and a passion for building test platforms that drive innovation in energy storage technology.

What you'll do:
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for the end-to-end development of test systems, from concept to deployment.

  • Own the technical direction of test infrastructure design, ensuring the systems support battery performance, reliability, and design validation.

  • Oversee the procurement of components required for fabrication, balancing cost, lead times, and system requirements.

  • Conduct and facilitate HAZID (Hazard Identification) assessments on test systems to proactively mitigate risks and ensure safety compliance.

  • Establish and drive a structured product development process, emphasizing documentation best practices to enhance system maintainability and scalability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including test engineers, operations, and safety teams, to ensure alignment on infrastructure needs and integration.

  • Provide technical leadership and decision-making around system architectures, instrumentation, and data acquisition strategies.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in test system development, automation, or related fields, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.

  • Strong expertise in test equipment design, instrumentation, and data acquisition for electrochemical or high-power systems.

  • Experience with procurement, supplier management, and fabrication processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive structured engineering processes, including documentation and safety assessments.

  • Familiarity with HAZID, FMEA, or other risk assessment methodologies.
