Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst - Registrar Systems is responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining registrar-related systems, including Ellucian Banner and DegreeWorks. This position acts as a bridge between technology and business processes, collaborating with IT, Business Operations, and other stakeholders to define system requirements, implement solutions, and conduct testing. Additionally, the analyst supports Institutional Support Services (ISS) by managing system updates, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance to ensure efficiency and compliance with academic policies.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Banner, DegreeWorks, and other registrar-related systems.
  • Manage program and course configurations, including new codes, courses, prerequisites, and equivalencies.
  • Update and maintain student degree audits using Banner CAPP (Curriculum, Advising, and Program Planning) and DegreeWorks Program Progress Guides (Scribe).
    • This includes creating new program codes and modifying existing ones in DegreeWorks Scribe based on business requirements.
  • Perform daily and scheduled production maintenance, ensuring SLAs are met and updates are recorded in Salesforce CRM.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to improve stability.
  • Oversee system updates, validate enhancements, and integrate new functionalities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide technical support as part of the break-fix team for system errors affecting degree audits in Banner and DegreeWorks, identifying issues, implementing corrective measures, and supporting advising, admissions, academic tracking, and other teams.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for system improvement, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to integrate new features and enhance system performance.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for system configurations, requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in project planning and change management initiatives while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and audits.
  • Follow best practices for system documentation, data security, and quality assurance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards as required by the audit group.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably with Banner, DegreeWorks, or similar student information systems.
  • Experience in higher education and student information system support.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with degree audits, including configuration. Scripting experience in DegreeWorks Scribe is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM for managing requests and tracking system issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and meet deadlines.
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $42,661.58 and $75,065.24. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
