As a Detailer, you will be assigned complex tasks that test your problem-solving skills. You will address technical issues within the design team and work with production staff to provide solutions. You will also handle multiple drawing requests simultaneously while collaborating with a larger creative team. Responsibilities Technical Approach
- Produce detailed assembly drawings for modular, woodworking, and metal fabrication based on GES detailing standards (modular items include GEM, FIT3, AGAM, beMatrix [AMP], Milos Truss, Tectonics, and other modular items).
- Possess the ability to detail custom construction components (i.e., CNC construction, box frame construction, and cabinetry)
- Create 3D/2D drawings for show setup, including elevations, plans, exploded views, space management, bill-of-materials, carpet, and electrical layouts.
- Maintain and create modular CAD drafting standards and SOP practices.
- Create design line drawings and control drawings for estimating and proposals.
- Using AutoCAD, create workable models for CNC programs.
- Create program code for CNC cutting machines using programming software (MasterCAM).
Execution
- Effectively communicate on every project and follow up with Designers and creative leaders when issues arise.
- Detail and engineer solutions for complex fabrication projects.
- Provide innovative engineering solutions and advise production project management personnel on construction options and cost saving opportunities.
- Multitask and prioritize workloads to maintain project flow and output.
- Follow GES file naming conventions and file management procedures.
Fit & Finish
- Specify all finishing materials on drawings.
- Provide accurate dimensions for the production of graphic applications.
- Work with Production Project Management & Carpenters to decide the best method of construction.
- Manage multiple projects, often with very tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- 2-4+ years' experience in the creative industry - exhibition, events, or experiential background a plus
- A passion for finding the right balance of materials, space,e and light to create innovative spaces
- A vast knowledge of materials, finishes, graphic applications, and fabrication methods
- Convincing presentation skills and ability to articulate technical details
- A keen sense of project flow, timelines, project endeavors,s and appropriate paths to resolution
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with 3D Studio Max
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite
