Content Marketing brings the voice of the New Relic brand to life across all written media, and strives to make the value of our highly technical products clear to our audience.

Compelling, useful, engaging content is the fuel for all of our marketing efforts at New Relic. We're looking for a strategic thinker-doer to own content marketing at New Relic. You will lead strategic and high-functioning work streams to create a steady, sustainable pipeline of content, working closely with numerous teams and individuals across the organization.

As a key leader of our Demand Generation / Growth team, this role will work closely with Communications/PR, Customer Marketing, Regional Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, Demand Generation to create a content strategy and roadmap that maps to the overall company strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker who is passionate about cementing New Relic's place as a leader at the forefront of the rapidly evolving Observability market.

What you'll do



  • Develop and own the content marketing strategy at New Relic, aligning with the company strategy and vision to create content that broadens and deepens the company's thought leadership position in the market.
  • Manage writers, contractors, and agencies that work to build and execute our content strategy. Manage the quarterly/annual content marketing budget.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to source and develop great content, including customer marketing, product and technical marketing, developer relations, communications and demand generation / regional marketing teams.
  • Work with all of marketing to help guide roadmap, metrics, and goals based on market conditions and competitive movements with a primary focus of driving pipeline and revenue for our go-to-market (GTM) teams.
  • Maintain a content marketing calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content throughout the year.
  • Partner with broader marketing and sales teams to build successful campaigns around engaging content.
  • Perform audits and analysis and develop strategies that bolster New Relic's market position. Present learnings and recommendations to marketing and other leaders.
  • Evaluate programs to ensure they are driving traffic, engagement, brand awareness and pipeline for customers and prospects.


This role requires



  • 10+ years relevant work content marketing experience preferably with a professional IT services company or SaaS software provider and/or working as a journalist covering technology.
  • Experience managing regional teams, contractors and program budgets.
  • A seasoned writer who is a hands-on contributor and leader. Ability to clearly communicate technical content and product use cases to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deeply connected to the details of strategy as well as tactics and process-while shepherding the brand with an eye always on the big picture.
  • Relevant experience managing content teams to develop comprehensive campaigns
  • Expert in trends happening in content strategies. Ability to create content suitable for different media i.e. videos, social channels, podcasts
  • Broad knowledge of global integrated content strategies and campaigns, and all areas of marketing. Experience in localization is a plus.
  • Intermediate Excel / spreadsheet skills, including conducting analysis of data to use in creating compelling content
  • Expertise in using SEO best practices to write copy that includes effective keyword placement and working with demand generation teams to ensure content is used most effectively.


Bonus points if you have



  • Upper intermediate foreign language (level B2+) in Spanish, Portuguese, other romance languages or Japanese.
  • Experience in data analysis, web and CRM metrics.
  • Experience as a user of Salesforce CRM and/or Marketo Marketing automation.

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience.
