About the Job

UMD Intercollegiate Athletics is searching for a Director of Operations for Women's Hockey. Reporting to the Head Coach, the incumbent is responsible for management of the operational needs and administration of the Division I Women's Hockey Program.

Duties/Responsibilities:

75%

  • Manage the operation and administration of our Division I women's hockey program.
  • Report to the Head Coach and serve as representative at various meetings or functions.
  • Manage operational needs of the program such as budget, ticketing, fundraising, group travel (flights, meals, lodging, itineraries), recruitment, and equipment.
  • Help coordinate the scheduling of facilities for practices and team functions.

25%

  • Oversee a staff of student workers who help with equipment.
  • Serve as liaison for assigned sport with Athletics Department representatives and other University offices/units. Travel is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years
  • Applies knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on detail and timeliness of execution
  • 1-2 years of combined experience as a player, coach, or staff member at the NCAA Division I, Ill, Junior League or High School level
  • Experience working within an athletics budget
  • Experience with supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Commitment to athletic excellence in an academic environment
  • Experience as a student-athlete
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both written and verbally
  • Experience working with diverse populations
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $45,000 - $50,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
