Job Summary:

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will lead strategic HR initiatives, ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, develop talent acquisition and retention strategies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. The HR Director will play a key role in aligning HR policies with the company's operational and business goals to drive productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.

  • Manage employee relations, address grievances, and foster a positive work environment.

  • Develop and oversee performance management programs, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.

  • Lead compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.

  • Partner with department heads to ensure workforce planning aligns with production and operational needs.

  • Oversee training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.

  • Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures to improve efficiency and standardization.

  • Manage HR-related safety programs, ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards.

  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess workforce trends and recommend improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, OSHA regulations, and union relations (if applicable).

  • Proven experience in talent management, succession planning, and leadership development.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior management.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to HR challenges.

  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and HR analytics.

  • Certification such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent is a plus.



Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
