Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for the academic administration of the Juris Doctor program at the School of Law, including activities related to student registration, student records, progress toward degree, course scheduling, exam administration, bar certification, and commencement.

Primary duties include the following:

* Manage daily operation of Law School administrative services office, student records, and the student information system via myZou/PeopleSoft.
* Establish, coordinate, and implement registration procedures: develop and publicize deadlines and procedural changes on registration issues; certify student enrollments; respond to internal/external registration-related requests.
* Manage the collection, recording, and distribution of grades each term: oversee the production and distribution of related reports, including class rosters and grade sheets; transmit grades to campus registrar; track student progress through curriculum; verify completion of graduation requirements and monitor students' progress toward resolution of deficient grades.
* Oversee examination process, resolving all student exam conflicts (in consultation with Associate Dean where necessary); overseeing the proctoring of exams and assisting students with documented ADA needs; managing and tracking progress toward joint-degree programs, certificate programs, and law school-related exchange programs.
* Coordinate with Law School Associate Dean and faculty on course schedule, curriculum management, and course evaluations.
* Initiate and maintain correspondence with students and appropriate faculty, staff, and administrators concerning academic regulations and requirements, individual student problems, and necessary action to be taken.
* Interpret faculty policy regarding student evaluation and records; formulate and implement operating procedures for such policies.
* Collaborate with various campus officials concerning student enrollment, student billing, transcript issues, and curricular changes.
* Collaborate with bar authorities and potential employers on students' applications to practice law.
* Supervise the planning of the annual student honor and awards banquet and May commencement ceremony.
* Compile data for Deans and external constituents such as the American Bar Association
* Hire and supervise support staff and work-study students.

Shift

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, with some flexibility as approved by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent customer service and people skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, strict adherence to confidentiality, knowledge of student information systems, experience with graduate level students

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $60,000 - $81,744 annually

Grade: GGS-009
