DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Provides services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain that arises from sports-related activities. Conducts initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to refer injured athletes to physicians for continued management of their care. Performs patient/client evaluation, modalities, treatment planning, and implementation of individual programs to achieve functional goals, incorporating patient, family, and physician expectations to maximize safe return to activities. Provides prevention of injuries, emergency care, first aid and treatment, and physical rehabilitation of injuries. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) by the Board of Certification (BOC). Athletic Trainer licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in a related field. One (1) year of experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
