We are seeking individuals who are eager to embrace the challenge and satisfaction of working with a dynamic team of clinicians, educators, and researchers. Our goal is to enhance the range of services provided to patients, families and communities, and we welcome motivated individuals to join our efforts.

The Clinical Assistant Professor will serve as an Attending Psychiatrist providing care to children, adolescents and young adults in need of both urgent and routine care. Primary responsibilities will include conducting psychiatric evaluations for individuals presenting in immediate psychiatric distress, as well as routine psychiatric evaluations. The role also involves managing short-term treatment interventions, offering school consultations, delivering professional development for school personnel, and acting as a liaison between the clinic, community, and local school districts. Additionally, this position will play a critical role in integrating education and clinical care for young adult and pediatric patients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interfacing with leadership and interdisciplinary team daily to ensure success of the program and services.
  • Teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Providing coverage as needed for other areas of the department including on-call duties.
  • Opportunities for clinical research in psychiatric inpatient and outpatient treatment are also available.

Schedule:

Full-time position, totaling 40 hours per week with cross-coverage responsibilities as needed. The anticipated schedule allows for approximately 80% of the time dedicated to clinical care, and 20% liaising with schools, communities and families.

The position is Monday through Friday with varying hours during the day shift. The position requires local travel between locations, some on the East End of Long Island, and some hours can be conducted remotely. Some urgent or emergent evaluations will be conducted virtually during scheduled shifts.
