Job Description:

Tower Semiconductor is looking for a Facilities Technician in Newport Beach, CA. Working in a world class Facilities organization with talented group of technical and supportive management. An organization that focuses on growth, talent development, and continuous improvement. Main responsibilities are to support the FAB Abatement systems repairs, perform electronic/electrical troubleshooting, VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) replacement, sensors, and support Facilities control systems. Also, review spare parts inventory requirements.

This Job Is For You If

  • You have a strong understanding of and experience sustaining Abatement systems, including Ecosys Marathon/Guardian units, Centrotherm, and Scrubbers used in semiconductor equipment.
  • You are skilled at troubleshooting and repairing complex Abatement systems, effectively diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure operational efficiency.
  • You are meticulous and can consistently perform work according to detailed manufacturer's blueprints, schematics, specifications, and established procedures.
  • You are proactive in managing maintenance schedules and can effectively collaborate with management to ensure all Abatement equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) is completed on time.
  • You are detail-oriented and proficient in documenting equipment failures accurately in systems like Promis, and you have the ability to analyze these failures to recommend meaningful improvements.
  • You are organized and capable of reviewing and maintaining a critical spare parts inventory for facilities assets to minimize downtime.
  • You are committed to continuous improvement and can critically review and update PM procedures to optimize their effectiveness.
  • You possess a solid foundation in general facility equipment repairs, including experience with VFDs, and control and instrumentation systems.
  • You are capable of providing support for the repair of Chillers and Heat Exchangers.
  • You have the ability to perform calibration on various facility assets as needed to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • You are comfortable operating, maintaining, and providing assistance in modifying facilities computer systems, related software, and PLCs.
  • You are safety-conscious and consistently adhere to company safety procedures and health regulations, and you are dedicated to staying current on maintenance procedures and documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing facilities abatement and control equipment (e.g., specific types of abatement systems, control panels, etc.).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electronic/electrical equipment issues, including identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Deep understanding of the operation and maintenance of facilities-related equipment, such as chillers (specify types, e.g., centrifugal, absorption), pumps (specify types, e.g., centrifugal, positive displacement), motors (specify types, e.g., AC induction, DC servo), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Practical working knowledge of basic AC/DC circuits, digital logic circuits, and standard test procedures using appropriate tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Experience with HVAC refrigeration systems, including knowledge of refrigeration cycles, refrigerants, and related equipment, is a plus.

Compensation: $25.00 - $40.00 an hour
