Position Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) responsibilities combine both administrative and clinical care services. This multi-skilled role includes appointment scheduling, greets patients and visitors, registration for patients, updating demographic information, and receiving co-payments for patient visits. The CMA will assist physicians in delivering excellent patient care to our community.

  • Patient check-in and check-out
  • Patient scheduling
  • Precerts & Authorizations
  • Prescription refill authorizations
  • Chart preparation
  • Phone triage
  • Patient care
  • Prepare/ administer oral/intramuscular medications as directed
  • Perform ECG's
  • Perform basic laboratory tests
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Charge entry
  • Coding accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent Required
  • 2- 4 years of clerical work experience in medical setting Preferred
  • Medical Certification such as a CMA, or Phlebotomist is Required (If candidate is not certified, they must be able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment)
