AWACS Test Engineer

We are seeking an AWACS Test Engineer to support the 96 Cyberspace Test Group (96 CTG) at Eglin AFB, FL. This role focuses on developmental testing for the E-7 Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) Air Battle Manager (ABM) software sustainment pipeline, working within the 45 Test Squadron, Air Operations C2 Systems Test Flight.

• Master's degree in a technical field

• Ten (10) years of technical experience (additional experience may be considered in place of education).

• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Recent (within the last 5 years) experience as an E-3 Air Battle Manager (ABM).
• Familiarity with E-3G Primary AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) Display (PAD).
• Experience with Air Operations Center (AOC), specifically in Combat Plans, Combat Ops, or Strategy.

• Background in aviation operations, planning assignments, or AOC WS operations (as outlined in AFI 13-1 AOC, Vol. 3).
• Experience with AOC Weapon System applications and a willingness to learn additional C2 systems.
• USAF Weapons School Weapons Course Graduate.
• Understanding of developmental test & evaluation processes, Air Force C2 test methodologies, and AFI 99-103.
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) for test planning and execution.
• Experience with Agile Software Development testing, including test design, execution, and reporting as part of DevOps and continuous testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as the technical advisor for the E-7 AEW&C test team program.

• Conduct data analysis and apply engineering expertise to support testing, evaluation, logistics, sustainment, and operations analysis.

• Assist in developing test objectives, performance criteria, and system metrics to evaluate software and operational capabilities.

• Support Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test (OT), Force Development Evaluation (FDE), and Risk Reduction Testing (RRT).

• Identify deficiencies, ensure compliance with specifications & standards, and assess system stability.

• Work with System Program Offices, military services, and development contractors to support system testing and validation.

• Develop, execute, and analyze test plans, procedures, reports, and technical documentation throughout the software development life cycle.

• Coordinate test schedules, logistics, and reporting for pre- and post-test activities
