Company Overview

By Light is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Configuration Management Analyst I to join our team in Port Orange, FL. In this role, you will support and implement configuration management strategies, guidelines, and processes across various hardware and software projects. You will report directly to the Director of Configuration Management and Integrated Logistics Support ensuring that all customer requirements are met with precision and accuracy.



Responsibilities

    Execute configuration management processes across a variety of projects and products.
  • Support the design, development, integration, testing, production, and sustainment of products and services in accordance with standard corporate processes and specific customer requirements.
  • Deliver strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Assist in the review and examination of drawings and engineering change orders for continuity and correctness of data line items.
  • Ensure timely hardware and software configuration management for multiple programs.
  • Implement customer requirements and review change accounting activities to ensure compliance with CM policies and procedures.
  • Audit records and develop corrective actions to ensure data accuracy.
  • Manage workflow for configuration management of assigned projects and suggest process improvements.
  • Apply established technical methodologies in configuration management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to support the CM department.
  • Create, apply and track system serial/part number and IUID labels to sub-assemblies and kits as needed.
  • Capture system configuration data such as OEM serial numbers, product keys, and other data as needed from hardware systems.
  • Must understand the system configuration to be shipped.
  • Assign system kit end item identifiers and ensure kits are labeled accordingly, and top levels MO CM routing steps are completed.
  • Support physical configuration audits and other configuration verifications of hardware systems as needed.
  • Create, monitor and communication system delivery documentation such as serialized inventory lists and DD1149's.
  • Receive system delivery requests and coordinate related activities with internal; departments such as Engineering, Configuration Management, Production Test, Production Control, and Material Control.
  • Support the coordination of internal shipments with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Track and maintain physical system kit locations from the point of production test completion, while systems are stored internally, until they are loaded on a truck for shipment to a delivery location.
  • Identify, track, record and communicate configuration deviations on systems shipping to an external location.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in configuration management, data management, logistics, field support management, product or project management, business management, engineering management, or production planning in a hardware/software development environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and Bills of Materials.
  • Knowledge of configuration control, configuration management, configuration identification, and configuration auditing disciplines.
  • Strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to implement configuration management business systems and tools with high-level guidance and to meet specific deadlines.
  • High degree of collaboration with design and production functions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to turn abstract concepts into well-thought-out strategies and plans.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Handling of hardware products, labeling and movement coordination.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • BS degree in business administration, project management, or data management.
  • Experience with any of the Materials module functions within Deltek Costpoint.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat products.
  • Direct experience and a working knowledge of CM within the defense industry, with a focus on hardware.
  • Understanding multi-level product bill of material structures;
  • Familiarity with document markings, formatting, and handling.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal auditing.


Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Ability to pass a security background check to obtain secret clearance if required by specific contracts/projects.


Physical Demands

  • Able to lift 50 pounds from floor to wait high unassisted. Able to assist with 2- or 4-man lifts.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Able to squat or sit on the floor at times.
  • Ability to climb on step ladders or over equipment at times.
  • Ability to read fine print on product labels and record long serial numbers.
