Salary: $17.50-$25/hour

Responsibilities:

  • The Agronomy Office Assistant is responsible for a variety of customer service and administrative activities at a retail agronomy facility. These activities include first-hand communication with customers and employees, invoicing, inventory, reporting, marketing, planning and record-keeping.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, sales staff, operations employees, and the home office.
  • Perform accurate and timely billing of customer purchases of products and services using published prices and approved protocols.
  • Use Agvance to create Blend Tickets, Product bookings, Delivery Tickets and other information necessary for daily location procedures to take place.
  • Assist the location sales staff with the planning module of Agvance and any precision farming programs introduced.
  • Organize and maintain customer accounts and market information for efficient and effective retrieval.
  • Generate required reports for sales and marketing staff and management as requested.
  • Work closely with Precision Farming Programs. Become familiar with all department programs and procedures.
  • Order agronomy products for the facility as needed (i.e. seed, plant food, chemicals, ect). Record and report inventory as required by agronomy management.
  • Invoice all incoming inventory in a timely manner.
  • Order and maintain office supplies (i.e. tickets, paper, computer supplies) to conduct business in a professional manner.
  • Establish excellent customer and employee relationships.
  • Occasionally may be asked to drive and run local errands as requested.
  • May be required to cross-train and substitute for other administrative positions.
  • May be required to pick up/drop off local products or materials by request.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Normally requires a High School diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 1-2 years or more of office related work experience to demonstrate advanced knowledge of professional communication skills, typing proficiency and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work with a variety of billing, planning and blending programs and be able to develop spreadsheets for other business functions.
  • While performing duties pertaining to this job, individual may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Must be willing to work additional hours beyond the normal work week at various times throughout the year. These include, but are not limited to, seasons of heavy customer demand and month end procedures.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment can be loud on occasion.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
