SUMMARY: The Supply Chain Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain meet the highest quality standards. This role involves monitoring and improving the quality of products and processes from suppliers to the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices in quality management. Responsibilities include continuous improvement to quality control systems, reviewing supplier performance data, and determining corrective actions. A successful Supplier Quality Specialist should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Establish and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures.
  • Perform regular audits of suppliers and internal processes to verify adherence to quality standards.
  • Track and analyze quality performance metrics, taking corrective actions, as necessary.
  • Assess and recommend suppliers for approval based on established quality criteria.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and timely material delivery.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and enhance processes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the supply chain and devise strategies to elevate quality.
  • Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement to streamline supply chain processes and minimize defects.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct risk and capacity assessments and create mitigation plans to address potential quality concerns.
  • Maintain precise documentation and records related to quality management activities.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on supplier quality performance to management.
  • Analyze data to uncover trends and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Utilize statistical tools to support quality analysis and informed decision-making regarding suppliers.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, quality management, engineering, or a related field.

    • OR an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in aviation supply chain quality or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as AS9100.
  • Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:



  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA).
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality management software.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the industry.
