The opportunity

Position Description: Join the Financial Literacy team as an online Financial Peer Mentor! The Financial Literacy Team is a financial literacy program providing counseling, financial education, and reliable resources to SNHU students.

As a Peer Financial Mentor, students will receive financial literacy training and certification, the opportunity for research projects, experience with one-to-one client meetings and practice with presentation creation and delivery.

Position Summary: The Peer Financial Mentor position will represent the Financial Literacy team, as an ambassador in the online space. In the position, students will provide financial education to other students through resource demonstration, one-to-one financial coaching and content creation. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing a peer financial certification program with a culminating exam and certification
  • Meeting with students through Teams for one-on-one individual personal financial coaching sessions to promote resources available through SNHU.
  • Planning and implementing online webinars designed to increase financial literacy awareness
  • Conducting research on assigned financial topics to aid in creating content and collateral for the team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a enrolled in classes at SNHU
  • All majors are welcome to apply

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in financial literacy issues and topics (i.e., budgeting, credit, student loan repayment)
  • Comfortable leading presentations/workshops
  • Self-starter with ability to manage and adapt tasks while working independently
  • Desire to enhance financial wellness opportunities for SNHU students

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
