PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Gerdau is looking for current students who possess an eagerness to grow personally and professionally, being a part of a global company with more than 120 years of entrepreneurship and achievements in the steel industry. This program is for individuals with high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously, who aim at consistently outperforming in a variety of settings and circumstances. If you can share your knowledge and ideas and encourage others to do the same; whilst having a desire to deliver excellent results - we'd like to hear from you.

This position will be a full-time, 4-month long internship opportunity starting May 2025 with the potential of extending to 16 months.

AS THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE, YOU WILL



  • Perform statistical analysis of energy consumption throughout the process to find opportunities for energy savings
  • Collect and analyze production data to determine improvement opportunities in a steel mill
  • Develop and implement solutions for production problems in the reheating, rolling or finishing process
  • Perform daily audits of process to report if standards are current and effective
  • Other responsibilities as assigned



REQUIREMENTS:



  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science or Metallurgy Engineering or relevant engineering focus
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, collaborative, and willing to handle new challenges
  • Statistical analysis and knowledge of manufacturing methods are an asset
  • Previous internship experience preferred
  • Candidates must demonstrate leadership potential, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work full-time in the country of hire without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment.
