Overview
The Mobile Unit Client Support Specialist position is based in Montpelier, and is responsible for customer service and examiner work for the Department of Motor Vehicles serving customers at various DMV locations around the state. Duties include conducting road and CDL written examinations. Additionally, the incumbent will process registrations, license renewals, new licenses, duplicates, non-driver identifications, and proper calculation and collection of fees. This is not a remote position and work will take place within DMV offices. Who May Apply

Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Occasional trips outdoors when verifying vehicle identification numbers. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to travel to other offices with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Overtime work may be required. Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a one-year vocational/technical training program in business and office or customer service occupations or related area AND one (1) year or more of office administrative experience that included significant public contact. OR High school graduation or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of office administrative experience, that included two (2) years or more of public contact experience. Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with prior motor vehicle department experience. Special Requirements
A current, valid driver's license is required. An applicant's vision must be correctable to 20/40 (Snellen test) in both eyes, with normal color perception and field of vision. SPECIAL NOTE: The incumbent will serve customers promptly and efficiently while maintaining the minimum production level of 5+ transactions per hour with a 1% or less error rate. The incumbent will be proficient in 5 or more of the job duties. Total Compensation
