Sibley Memorial Hospital - Johns Hopkins Medicine, is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital located in the Palisades neighborhood of Washington, DC. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Department.

What You Will Do

As Nurse Residency Coordinator, you will participate in the planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating activities associated with comprehensive hospital-wide nursing education. This includes general and specific programs including nursing orientation, in-service education and continuing education to all nursing staff. Provide specialized education in the areas of nurse onboarding. Responsible for the overall coordination and management of the new-to-practice nurse residency program, including collaboration with leadership, curriculum development and implementation with subject matter experts, and evaluation of resident progression. In addition to managing the nurse residency program, the professional development specialist is responsible for orientation of new nursing staff, providing professional development opportunities for hospital staff, and clinical placement coordination for baccalaureate, masters and doctoral nursing students.

What You Will Bring




  1. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the District of Columbia.
  2. Master's degree in nursing or related discipline required, or must be matriculated into a master's program within nine months of employment.
  3. Certified in Professional Development required, or must be certified within nine months of employment.
  4. Minimum of one year teaching nursing staff or nursing students.



Salary Range: Minimum 47.93 per hour - Maximum 74.29 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
