Wieland seeks a hands-on HR leader with depth of experience in manufacturing HR to join the company as Director of Human Resources. The individual will be a strategic business partner to the Global Services Business Unit leaders as well as Corporate Functions in North America.

The Director will support the expected organic and acquisition growth in Wieland's business from an HR perspective ensuring that the necessary HR infrastructure and talent management framework is in place for the success of the business. The Director will need a roll-up sleeves mentality and must be prepared to operate at both the front-line level and a strategic level.

They will be responsible for ensuring that all HR and talent initiatives are aligned with Wieland's strategic and commercial objectives, while building a strong, cohesive, performance-oriented and safety-centric culture for the company.



Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a track record of constructing and leading HR for corporate entities and manufacturing environments accross multiple states.

Key responsibilities will include:

    Collaborate with the business to build a strong partnership with human resources and help build a strategic HR function within the division
  • Oversee HR for 20+ locations, approximately 1,000 employees located in 25 states and Mexico
  • Collborating with and guiding global leaders. Specifically international leaders who may have teams within the U.S.
  • Foster a positive employee relations supporting both union and non-union sites.
  • Coach and develop a team accross the U.S. and Mexico.
  • Develop an understanding of operations to make informed decisions, provide consultation to leaders, and offer strategic guidance on HR matters aligned with business priorities

Qualifications:

  • Human Resource Leadership - A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive, relevant HR leadership experience with prior experience in all aspects of HR including recruiting, training and development, compensation and benefits, HR operations and compliance, employee relations, labor relations, safety and HR governance. Experience building a strong and strategic HR function is a plus. Understands what leading HR practices look like and has a track record of supporting P&L leaders
  • Relevant Industry Experience - Proven success and deep understanding of the manufacturing sector and competitive forces at work. Must have led multisite facilities and/or plants. M&A experience required. Prior labor union experience is preferred.
  • Stakeholder Communication - Demonstrated success as a trusted advisor, confidante and coach to employees at all levels of an organization. Must be an impactful communicator across a range of employee populations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
