Job Summary:
This position is accountable for daily payroll processing in the payroll area.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Works with Manager, Payroll and Financial Operations Leadership to maintain daily operations of the Payroll Department.
- Performs full range of payroll activities, including computing wage and overtime payments and calculating and recording payroll deductions.
- Maintains tax information and payroll deductions, including garnishments, child supports, Responsible for responding to court summons in a timely manner.
- Processes requests for special checks, such as short term disability, and PTO cash-ins, for Associate hardships.
- Creates and processes bi-weekly timecards and accrual updates.
- Reviews Exception reports to ensure accuracy of Associates' compensation.
- Ensures appropriate payout transactions are completed for terminated Associates.
- Reviews, verifies, reconciles Associate payroll information to ensure accuracy of payroll information.
- Responds to questions from Associates concerning payroll information.
- Maintains manual of procedures and practices related to assigned duties.
- Provides back-up for the Time and Attendance Administrator
- Assists users with answers to API questions
- Acts as a back-up for Time and Attendance Orientation/Training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPP, preferred.
- Three-Five years minimum payroll experience, preferably in a health care setting for 3,000+ employees, required.
- Professional knowledge of federal, state and local wage, overtime, tax and deduction regulations required.
- Familiarity with Workday Financial / HR / Payroll software preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, along with a strong orientation to using personal computers in a network setting.
- Ability to effectively and accurately manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex topics and interact with all levels of management and Associates.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively / collaboratively as part of a team, developing productive working relationships with diverse groups of people
