Overview The General Accounting Manager oversees all transaction processing activities and recordkeeping functions in the General Accounting area to ensure accurate and timely performance and compliance with all approved company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations. Additional job responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and financial statements, performing month-end and year-end closing and audit functions and ensuring compliance with GAAP and good internal controls. Responsibilities

- Lead the consolidated annual budgeting processes.
- Lead and participate in preparation of timely and accurate, fully consolidated monthly and annual financial statements.
- Lead regular review of actual expense to budget in the home office and other indirect allocation areas.
- Oversee the company credit card program; issue cards, review monthly transactions and user coding, troubleshoot user issues with card usage and/or coding website.
- Manage company lease accounting process to ensure compliance with GAAP and timeliness of renewals.
- Gather data, respond to questions and assist external auditors as needed to ensure clean audit
- Work with other departments to facilitate process improvements.
- Monitor internal control processes to ensure controls are adequate to minimize the possibility of error or fraud.
- Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations affecting accounting management.
- Establish individual and team goals for each department, as well as establish personal goals with senior leader. Ensure goals are attainable and trackable.
- Ensure employees follow posted work schedules and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.
- Manage assigned employees including hiring, evaluating performance, making wage adjustments, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Plan and direct the work of assigned employees, including providing clear direction; training, developing and motivating employees; enforcing company policies and safety requirements; monitoring productivity; and resolving conflict in a timely manner.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related field.
- Four years of strong accounting experience.
- Three years of management experience.
- Experience using automated accounting systems.
- Experience with auditing internal controls and procedures.
- Good, working knowledge of GAAP.
- Working knowledge and experience in analyzing financial statements.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, and particularly Excel.
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to convey material concisely, using proper grammar.
- Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to individuals, as well as small and large groups.
- Ability to motivate employees under direct supervision, evaluate performance and assist in personal and professional development.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide accurate and thorough work with attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
- Ability to travel as needed throughout the company footprint or nationally for training.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
