West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over four decades. Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and included a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency.

We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment is offered at multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.

West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Director of Plant Opearations to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the development, organization and management of the facility and grounds including Maintenance, Housekeeping and Safety. The Director of Plant Operations ensures duties are performed in a systematic and timely manner in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and applicable regulatory/accreditation rules and guidelines resulting in a well-maintained and patient/employee safe behavioral healthcare facility.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Directs all activities and staff pertaining to safety, grounds and building maintenance; housekeeping; dietary; security; and transportation and parking services in accordance with pertinent standards, regulations, and policies and procedures.
• . Ensures compliance with pertinent healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA, and contractual work specifications; and oversee emergency facilities operational initiatives and plans.
• Oversee all construction projects and any work performed by outside vendors and contractors, while assuring that all work performed meets fire and safety codes.
• Maintain documentation for various regulatory agencies such as JC, TDH, City of Houston and Fire Marshall.
• Assure that OSHA guidelines and hospital safety policies are being followed.

The Director of Plant Operations Job Requirements:

• Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field. Education may be substituted with experience on a year to year basis.
• Licensure and Certification: Required: Valid Texas Drivers License.
• Experience: Required::Seven years of experience in facilities management or related field. Preferred: Experience in JC readiness and surveys in a psychiatric setting.
• Knowledge of HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory codes regarding Fire and Life Safety codes, building and engineering codes.
• Experience communicating and managing staff and projects.
