Position Highlights

The AEGIS Consortium at the University of Arizona invites applications for the position of Data Support Specialist. The Data Support Specialist will be a part of the PASC-RECOVER team, working to define and find ways to treat long COVID. They will be part of a fast-paced study with many opportunities to learn more about federally funded research projects. The Specialist will support the coordinators and data analyst by utilizing the data capture systems and organizing data for use by researchers throughout the study.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Enters and collects data, maintains databases, and produces reports for various purposes.
  • Performs a variety of activities associated with receiving, coding, reviewing, entering, cleaning, and reconciling research data.
  • Uses pre-made reports to maintain study specific spreadsheets.
  • Provides support to research coordinators on how to utilize the spreadsheets effectively.
  • Maintains research databases, files, and other records to support and inform research.
  • Provides data and reports to RECOVER team.
  • Works directly with the data scientist to find larger patterns in the data to guide staff training.
  • Collaborates with other data analysts to find more efficient workflows.
  • Maintains up to date data tracking systems.
  • Reviews and tracks study time points to ensure visit completion and compliance to the RECOVER protocol.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Detail oriented, and able to follow instructions.
  • Comfortable using various types of data systems.
  • Knowledge of modern research methods, data collection, and analyses.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous research experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
