Your Role on the Team

Under the supervision of the Primary Caregiver, assistant teachers help plan the day for infants and implement, on a daily basis, a plan for learning relevant to the needs, abilities and interests of the children. Caregivers develop a relationship of trust through caregiving routines which support children's social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language skills.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $$21.24- $$23.82 (Hourly).

Required:

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a child development team, with children, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a quality educational program.
  • Thorough understanding of child development and the philosophy and methodology of early childhood education, as well as changes taking place in the field.
  • Ability to work with and be sensitive to a culturally diverse community.
  • Ability to relate to children as individuals in small and large groups.
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct a challenging developmental and instructional program for school aged children.
  • Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations applicable to a child care facility.
  • Knowledgeable of NAEYC Accreditation Criteria.
  • Effective communication skills, both with children and adults.
  • 3 units of Infant Toddler coursework
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications/cards
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent to a minimum of 2 years working in a center-based environment

Preferred:

  • 6 or more units of Infant Toddler coursework
