Position Summary
Tracking inventory Keeping accurate records Packaging and weighing items Printing shipping labels and postage Inspecting goods received for damage Distributing products to other departments Developing mailing labels and shipping documents Essential Functions Receiving daily deliveries from various vendors Processing orders and shipping products to customers using computers and shipping software. Tracking packages through different shipping stages such as pickup, transit, and delivery. Communicating with customers regarding order status, shipping details, and other information related to an order's shipment. Evaluating insurance coverage limits and issuing appropriate invoices for claims. Maintaining regular communication with the company's shipping department regarding deliveries, delays, and other issues that may affect HP customers' satisfaction with the shipping process. Maintaining inventory levels of all shipping supplies, including boxes, packing tape, labels, etc. Ensuring that all documentation is correct and legible before shipping packages. Communicating with other departments within the company to ensure that packages are delivered on time. Assisting Shipping Clerk Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple and changing priorities, react to change yet refocus quickly on the priorities at hand. Proven self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement. Demonstrated time management skills, along with high level of attention to detail. Demonstrated communication skills (verbal & written) to interface with workers, supervisors, vendors, and other stakeholders. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to provide effective work direction and promote respect amongst employees. Demonstrated history of "team commitment / team building skills". Ability to use WOMS, Excel, Word, email, and associated computer functions; 10-key a plus. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. using proper lifting techniques. Forklift certified a plus. Minimum Required Education High School diploma or equivalent (college degree a plus) |
