THE ROLE

The Barista, reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences. This position is responsible for educating guests on our drink menu, offering personalized recommendations, up-selling specialty items, and accurately taking orders. Success in this role requires strong customer service skills, expertise in brewing equipment operation, and the ability to work flexible shifts.

As a central point of contact within the hotel, the Barista will interact with guests and team members across all areas, so exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to diverse personalities are essential. A key responsibility is ensuring that each drink order is organized and precise, as attention to detail directly impacts the guest experience and satisfaction. Your ability to create a memorable, flawless drink for every guest is crucial to their overall experience.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?


  • Exemplify the company's core principles of People, Place, and Character, consistently modeling behaviors that reflect our values of collaboration, intuition, and translocal hospitality.
  • Ensure a guest-first attitude, exercising discretion and respecting the privacy of hotel clients and visitors.
  • Present customers with our drink menus and provide knowledgeable answers regarding ingredients, preparation methods, and options.
  • Take drink orders with precision, paying careful attention to customer preferences, such as coffee blends, dairy choices, and sugar ratios.
  • Prepare beverages according to established recipes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Serve drinks and complementary food items, such as cookies, pastries, and muffins, to enhance the customer experience.
  • Accurately receive and process payments through both cash and credit card transactions.
  • Maintain a spotless and organized bar area, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness at all times.
  • Regularly check and ensure brewing equipment is functioning properly, promptly reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to managers and contribute ideas for new menu items to continually improve the customer experience


WHAT YOU WILL NEED?


  • Previous experience as a Barista or Server in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient hands-on experience with brewing equipment and beverage preparation.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation regulations and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, in alignment with business needs.
