Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven PR Specialist to lead and manage our public relations efforts related to Hyland Software and its products. This role requires a strong understanding of software industry and data management media relations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic, and skilled in building relationships with both traditional and digital media outlets and have strong background in public relations agency management with a proven track record of t executing successful PR campaigns that ensure alignment with the company's overall communication strategy and driving brand visibility in key markets.



What you will be doing

    Manage day-to-day operations of global PR agency relationships, ensuring agencies understand and execute the companies' goals, messaging, and brand voice.
  • Manage budgets and ensure PR activities stay within financial guidelines while achieving objectives.
  • Develop and implement PR strategies in partnership with agencies to enhance brand/product awareness, reputation and thought leadership.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies to promote Hyland Software and its solutions, focusing on increasing brand awareness and fostering positive media coverage.
  • Create and pitch press releases, media advisories, and other press materials related to Hyland's products, services, events, and achievements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry journalists, bloggers, influencers, and other media contacts to secure media coverage.
  • Monitor and analyze industry news, trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for proactive media outreach and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, customer success) to gather information and create effective messaging tailored to media and target audiences.
  • Manage Hyland's corporate and product-specific PR campaigns, ensuring timely and impactful communication.
  • Track media coverage and manage PR analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
  • Coordinate and support press events, product launches, webinars, and media interviews.
  • Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries, responding promptly and professionally to requests.
  • Support crisis communication efforts as needed, ensuring that Hyland's brand image is protected during sensitive situations.
  • Stay updated on trends in the software and technology sectors to effectively pitch relevant news and stories.
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy


What will make you successful

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Hyland Software's products and services, or in a similar enterprise software environment preferred.
  • Background in B2B public relations or marketing.
  • Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong social media and content creation skills.
  • Established relationships with key media contacts in the software and tech sectors.
  • Proven experience in public relations, ideally within the software, technology, or SaaS industry.
  • Strong understanding of Hyland Software, its products, and its market positioning.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in media relations, including pitching stories, building media contacts, and securing coverage.
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and execute PR campaigns that align with overall business goals.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with media tracking tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) and PR analytics.
  • Experience in crisis communications.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Based on individual states' employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $116,000-145,000 and eligible for bonus and benefits
