We are seeking a sustainability-driven professional with expertise in product development and business analysis to lead innovative energy management and conservation initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to design and scale impactful solutions, build programs from the ground up, and drive non-traditional revenue growth for OUC.

In this position, you will design and evaluate energy conservation programs, conducting market analyses, evaluating financial pro formas, preparing business plans, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership. You will also collaborate across teams to monitor and ensure program success, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide expertise on sustainability initiatives. With opportunities to grow into operational leadership roles, this position is ideal for a results-driven professional with strong communication skills, proficiency in data analytics, and a passion for sustainability. This full-time position (Monday-Friday, 40 hours) offers a supportive onboarding experience with three months of on-site work to ensure a smooth transition. Afterward, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, with one in-office day per week (Thursdays).

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in financial and analytical decision-making for business operations, including 3+ years in new product analysis and development.
  • Certification in energy management, sustainability, building science, or related discipline (preferred)
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy conservation principles, with the ability to analyze business cases and validate assumptions (Utility or consulting industry preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for creating business plans, financial pro formas, and delivering presentations to senior leadership
  • Proficiency in data analytics and expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Salary Range: $89,120- $ 111,401 annually - commensurate with experience

Job Purpose:

Develops and leads business analysis for individual and /or suites of potential and existing products and services with a focus on energy management, optimization and conservation. Identifies, evaluates, and recommends potential new products, services and incentives assessing viability and the value of augmenting the existing offerings portfolio. Designs and implements pilot programs for evaluation in collaboration with other stakeholders. Assists in program scale up from pilot through launch. Provides subject matter expertise on complex projects. Serves as a project lead as assigned.

Primary Functions:

  • Lead the evaluation of existing and potential non-traditional revenue products and services;
  • Serve as lead for cross-functional teams to complete detailed design and implementation of pilot programs;
  • Collaborate and/or serve as lead on complex and/or cross-functional projects/programs with strategic impact;
  • Review strategic goals, existing programs, market analytics and competitive analysis identifying market gaps and opportunities for potential new products and services;
  • Prepare and present financial and market analytics to assess viability of new programs and services.
  • Design and implement energy efficiency and conservation programs tailored to various customer segments.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance, adjusting tactics as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide support for data collection and preparation of Conservation goal setting analysis, required annual Conservation reporting and other ad hoc analyses as requested.
  • Provide related work guidance, coaching, and training to team members;
  • Establish budget and staff forecasts for proposed programs in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Evaluate research data to determine industry best practices;
  • Prepare Agenda Items and support material for Commission approval;
  • Represent OUC at conferences or on industry committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
  • Business finance and market analysis including cost studies, discounted cash flow studies, regression analysis, financial analysis of business operations, and financial modeling;
  • Ideation and new product development processes;
  • Building science principles and energy conservation practices;
  • Photovoltaic generation and energy storage system design, operation and evaluation;
  • Incentive design and analysis to support conservation goals;
  • Marketing Analytics;
  • Familiarity with all, but not limited to, the following:
  • Specialized business software applications (i.e. Energy modeling, enterprise customer billing software);
  • Tariff sheets/rate schedules and Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) filings;
  • Presentations, Agenda Items, letters, and management reports;
  • Software Applications (i.e. CC&B, EnterpriseOne Insight);
  • Related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices, and procedures; legal guidelines, ordinances, and laws;
  • Ability to:
  • Identify trends and draw valid business conclusions and recommendations from a wide variety of data;
  • Conceptualize, develop, and implement data analysis tools including modeling and queries for use in financial analysis and reporting;
  • Prepare holistic business analysis reports outlining value proposition, required resource commitments, financial investments and financial returns
  • Develop and deliver formal presentations to senior leadership;
  • Present findings and recommendations to management verbally and/or in writing;
  • Prepare cover letter, analysis and supporting documentation for regulatory filings;
  • Lead projects and coach, mentor and guide entry and intermediate level team members;
  • Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios and percentages;
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, scanner, etc.).

Education/ Certification/Years of Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related field of study from an accredited college or university;
  • Master's degree in related field of study, preferred;
  • Seven (7) years of experience developing, analyzing and presenting financial and analytical information used in making business operations decisions, to include:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in new product analysis and development processes.
  • Certification in energy management, sustainability, building science, or related discipline, preferred;
  • Utility or consulting industry experience, preferred.
