Job Summary:

SPECIALTY GRANULES IS LOOKING FOR A HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

For more than 90 years, Specialty Granules LLC has been a leading producer of semi-ceramic coated, colored mineral granules for the North American residential and commercial roofing industry. Specialty Granules is located in Pembine, Wisconsin.

Summary

Troubleshoot, repair, and servicing for all quarry and mobile equipment.

Essential Duties

  • Perform equipment pre-shift and workplace examinations.
  • Fueling, lubing, maintenance and repair for all quarry and mobile equipment.
  • Carry out repairs according to work orders in requested terms and quality.
  • Document all information regarding repairs carried out (equipment history), on work order.
  • Assist in preparation of work (job steps, tolerances, spare parts, tools, auxiliary equipment, etc.)
  • Perform condition monitoring activities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
  • Inspect and prepare mobile equipment used for daily operations.
  • Tasks including but not limited to bearing replacement, welding, cutting, rigging, hydraulics, plumbing and fitting, lubrication, fabrication, pneumatics, measurements.
  • Understand technical specifications with respect to equipment installation and operation: clearance checks, interference fits, lubrication, torque requirements.
  • Start up, service, and shut down de-water pumps for quarry operations.
  • Qualified in the operation of all quarry and mobile equipment.
  • Inform foreman of any deviation from standards or maintenance problems.
  • Responsible for quality of work and the safe operation of all tools/equipment under his/her control.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping and safety inspection of work area. Maintain a clean and neat work area.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A Minimum of Five Years Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic Experience
  • CAT Certification / Experience (Preferred)
  • Must be able to Work 1st, 2ndand 3rd Shifts
  • Work in Inclement Weather, Heights, Confined Spaces and be able to Lift 100 lbs.
