The Supply Chain team is looking for motivated, entrepreneurial-minded professionals to work with our drivers to facilitate the distribution of our great products to customers and consumers. These personnel can analyze Company metrics and focus on product delivery through the transportation process.

The Senior Fleet Dispatcher is responsible for the effective management and coordination of a fleet of drivers and vehicles. This position is responsible for the routing and preparation of schedules, as well as dispatching of activities for trucks and drivers. This position is also responsible for all aspects of safety of the driver, the equipment, and the product.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the leading and retaining of a designated fleet of drivers.

  • Establish a good working relationship with each driver, while managing their availability to maximize productivity of their fleet.

  • Monitor and train drivers to promote company safety culture.

  • Identify and evaluate deliveries by product requirements, cost, and expected pickup and delivery schedules.

  • Work with internal product planners, distribution centers, plants, and cold storages on scheduling appointments.

  • Analyze dispatch information received from Master Planner to ensure ability for driver to meet service standards.

  • Coordinate w/the Fleet Ops Supervisor to continuously problem solve through various transportation events.

  • Monitor compliance relating to Federal DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations relating to HOS (Hours of Service) regulations, accident reporting, and driver personnel records.

  • Coordinate service requirements and repairs with Maintenance Service Manager.

  • Manage driver performance and take proper disciplinary steps if necessary.

  • Educate new drivers on plant policies and procedures.

  • Process Samsara/Beekeeper messages in a timely manner.

  • Effectively communicate pertinent information regarding service/driver issues to Fleet Dispatch Supervisor, Fleet Safety Supervisor, and Fleet Operations Manager.

  • Perform to established goals and metrics.

  • Monitor fuel process in compliance with Company requirements.

  • Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers via STAMP timekeeping system.

  • Train/Cross train within transportation department as needed.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Proficient in Excel.

  • SAP and Transportation Management systems experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the transportation industry, transportation rate structures and current trends.

  • Ability to work independentlyand navigate a complex organization.

  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to berespectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to execute logical decisions quickly.

  • Ability to multitask, talk on the telephone for extended periods of time, and type efficiently.

  • Flexibility to adapt to a varied work schedule including nights & weekends.

  • Must be able to work a rotating Saturday schedule.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May directly supervise fleet drivers.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
