The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting; performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, collecting patient co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and performing other front office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM

Location: 4750 W Oakey, Las Vegas, NV

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Greets patients as they arrive and manage appropriate standard wait times
  • Processing of specialty referrals
  • Answer up to 30 incoming calls daily
  • Communicating with outside offices including faxing and receiving medical records
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include patient demographic verification, insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Scanning patient forms into the EHR platform
  • Providing patients with registration forms
  • Running patients insurance eligibility
  • Conducting appointment confirmation calls, answering phones
  • Sending messages to clinicians and their teams
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience working in a healthcare office setting
  • 1+ years experience with health insurance verification and benefits
  • 1+ years experience in a call center setting with high volume incoming calls
  • Basic level of Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience working in a customer service role
  • 1+ years of experience working with basic office equipment, such as faxes, scanners, copy machines, printers, etc.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)


Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
