Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Responsible for functioning as a project engineer and subject matter expert for controls system. Providing engineering expertise for the design, development, evaluation, implementation, startup, and verification of controls systems within the Allentown manufacturing site. Demonstrate automation expertise within the engineering field while working across a variety of functional groups and are directly involved with capital project life cycles and site operation. This position will act as an SME in the area of controls system in support of manufacturing operations and will participate in project design reviews to provide input.

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Computer, Controls or related degree
  • Hands-on experience with process controls equipment
  • Programming experience in controls system (PLC and HMI)
  • Experience in an application development (Visual Studio) and database design (SQL).
  • Knowledge in plant level applications (PCS, SCADA, and/or MES)
  • Working knowledge in Wonderware system.
  • Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical environment is a plus
  • Ability to manage time and be able to perform multitask.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Coordinates and leads project teams and activities associated with product development projects.
  • Supervises the preparation and maintenance of records pertaining to product cost estimates, project budgets and expenditures.
  • Prepare specifications, project plans, schedules and associated documents to be used in product and process development projects.
  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies.
  • Gathers and correlates engineering data.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to professional and/or assisting personnel.
  • May provide supervision to and/or oversee the work of lower level associates and engineers.
  • Prepare and present routine project status reports and/or project escalations to steering team as required.
  • Support internal and external audits as a project or process subject matter expert.
  • Drive procedural changes required to improve operating efficiencies and support regulatory compliance.

  • Work under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training , assigning and checking the work of lower level employees. Referring only complex problems and issues
  • Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.
  • Interacts with internal and/or external clients and customers to negotiate and interpret information on projects and unit operations. May consult with senior management.

The targeted range for this role takes into account a range of factors that are considered when making compensation and hiring decisions; included but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The range provided is a reasonable estimate.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience, Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10years related experience required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Occasional business travel required
